Osteoporosis & Fracture Liason Service Specialists Jacksonville NC
East Carolina Medical Associates engages in the identification of patients at increased risk of osteoporosis and fracture. To this end, our service as part of the annual preventive health visit evaluates the patient for bone density assessment.
As part of bone health, both genders are at increased risk, although women are at a higher risk due to menopausal changes. Bone fracture increases the risk of loss of mobility and independence. There is also an associated increased risk of impaired quality of life and mortality.
We at East Carolina Medical Associates encourage identification of such predisposition condition and engage in active treatment. We offer a Fracture Liason Service outpatient program. In this program, we work collaboratively with your primary care physician and orthopedic surgeon on an outpatient basis to reduce a recurrence fracture by identifying and correcting the root causes of bone loss. Our provider is a certified Bone Densitometrist with certification in the National Osteoporosis Fracture Liason Service since 2016 as a commitment of his service to patients with osteoporosis, fractures and increased risk of recurrent fracture.
If you have the listed predisposition risk for osteoporosis, call our Fracture Liason Service coordinator to schedule an appointment:
